According to a study by the Catalan Institute of Oncology, 60% of Spanish involuntarily exposed to snuff smoke at work, at home or during their free time. In fact, it is estimated that about 3,000 people die each year in our country for this cause. The risk is such that a non-smoker “smokes” about a third of the amount of snuff from the smoker next to you live with or work.
An example: the partner of a smoker consumes 18 cigarettes a day would be a “secondary smoking” 6 cigarettes, with all the risks involved. The question is: how does a non-smoker can protect against this potential risk?
The first thing to do is get away at all costs and as far as possible snuff smoke because, as happens with other types of toxins, it is essential to distance themselves from the pollution source. On the other hand, even though there is no specific medicine to protect us from smoke snuff, yes that can be alleviated to some extent the adverse effects following a healthy diet, doing exercise and taking action as adequately ventilate the rooms in which smoked.
