This is the first vaccine specifically designed against the development of cancer. This clinical trial showed that the vaccine is 98% effective and involves no risk, as evidenced by the few cases of severe side effects
the clinical trial showed that the vaccine was nearly one hundred percent effective against types 16 and 18, responsible for 70 percent of uterine cancers.
Gardasil also effective against HPV types 6 and 11, which cause 90 percent of the warts of the anus and genitals.
