Relationship between the good cholesterol in children and atherosclerosis
According to various scientific studies HDL apolipoprotein that transports the good cholesterol, has a direct and beneficial relationship against the formation of atherosclerotic plaques. This is very important because today we know that atherosclerosis begins in children, which could make prevention from childhood.
There is scientific evidence that says that the process of atherosclerosis begins in childhood, although the clinical manifestations occur in adulthood. This further increases the importance of caring for cholesterol and triglyceride levels in children.
Prospective studies of children of school age, allowed demonstrating that children who had low blood levels of HDL or good cholesterol in childhood, had a higher incidence in the occurrence of thrombotic and atherosclerotic diseases.
The HDL cholesterol plasma levels were positively correlated with the concentration of apolipoprotein A1 responsible for transporting cholesterol. This correlates directly with reduced atherogenic effect and blood coagulation level.
In conclusion we can say that, known accounts of this type of study is important to encourage certain dietary habits and life from childhood to avoid in the future, today’s children are more likely to develop cardiovascular disease.
