Health InfoThe information provided by experts in the framework of the 15 th session of the Spanish Society of Hypertension-Spanish League for the Fight Against Hypertension (SEH-LELHA) being held these days in Zaragoza (from 9 to 12 this month the Palacio de Congresos de Zaragoza) is very significant. In Spain consume far more salt than necessary, which is at the root of one third of cases of hypertension occurring in our country.

Beware of the excessive salt intake

this excess consumption comes mainly cooked and chilled foods, which should be moderated to avoid the risk of developing hypertension. It is also recommended moderation in consumption of sausages, one of the main causes of the body salt intake.

Another recommendation is made in this conference is to pay attention to the labeling of precooked, frozen, meats, preserves, etc, because many times the amount of sodium they contain can be “camouflaged” by of conservatism or stabilizers.
