Beyond that anemia can occur for other reasons unrelated to the diet, lack of these nutrients can lead to inadequate production of hemoglobin or red blood cells and cause nutritional anemia.

* Iron: its deficit causes iron deficiency anemia or iron deficiency known because it reduces the production of hemoglobin and red blood cells originate from small, distorted and pale.
* Folic acid deficiency with megaloblastic anemia may occur because this B vitamin acts as a coenzyme in the synthesis of DNA.
* Vitamin B12 deficiency produces its pernicious megaloblastic anemia due to participating in DNA synthesis and thus, the red blood is great because its growth is important, but DNA synthesis is delayed.

These three nutrients are important constituents of red blood cells are needed for the cell to mature properly, so that the deficiency of any of these can cause changes in adult erythrocytes and cause nutritional anemia.
